Quality Management Policy
Last updated: September 2026
ARUSi commits to delivering safe, lawful and consistently high-quality driver and rider training, road-safety education and programme services. We use evidence, learner and partner feedback, competent personnel and corrective action to improve results.
1. Scope
This policy applies to ARUSi directors, employees, instructors, volunteers, consultants and contractors. It covers the ARUSi Driving School, the Bodaa Program, school-zone and community interventions, Highway Code education, road-sign and road-asset work, fleet services, partnerships, procurement, monitoring, reporting and supporting administration.
2. Our commitments
- We will understand each learner's, client's, partner's and community's agreed requirements before delivery and translate them into clear objectives, work plans, responsibilities and acceptance criteria.
- We will comply with applicable Kenyan law, licence and accreditation conditions, contractual requirements, approved curricula and relevant public-authority guidance. We will maintain the approvals required for regulated activities and will not describe an approval, accreditation or certification more broadly than its verified scope.
- We will use competent and appropriately authorised instructors and personnel. Induction, supervision and continuing learning will address instructional quality, road safety, safeguarding, first aid, customer care, data handling and the risks of each assignment.
- We will check training vehicles, motorcycles, protective equipment, learning materials, venues, road signs and field equipment before use. Defects that could affect safety or quality will be corrected, isolated or escalated before delivery continues.
- We will design programmes around documented needs and intended outcomes. Delivery records will be accurate, traceable and protected, including attendance, assessments, licences or referrals, asset records, incidents, partner deliverables and authorised changes.
- We will provide fair, accessible ways to ask questions, give feedback and complain. Complaints will be acknowledged, assessed without retaliation, resolved within a reasonable time and used to prevent recurrence.
- We will monitor completion, assessment results, learner and partner feedback, safety events, complaints, corrective actions and agreed programme outcomes. Management will review trends, risks, resources and improvement priorities at planned intervals.
3. Control of problems and change
Any person may pause an activity where there is an immediate safety, legal or serious quality concern. ARUSi will record significant nonconformities, contain their effects, identify causes, assign corrective action, verify completion and check whether the action worked. Changes to curricula, delivery methods, suppliers, equipment, schedules or programme scope will be reviewed in proportion to their risk and communicated to affected people.
4. Responsibilities
The Board or governing body provides oversight and approves this policy. Management supplies resources, sets objectives and reviews performance. Programme leads and instructors apply approved controls and maintain records. Everyone within scope must raise risks, incidents, errors and improvement opportunities promptly. Suppliers and delivery partners must meet the quality and evidence requirements in their contracts.
5. Certification statement
This policy reflects recognised quality-management principles, including customer focus, process control, evidence-based decisions and continual improvement. It does not by itself state or imply that ARUSi is certified to ISO 9001 or any other quality standard. ARUSi will publish a certification claim only when a current certificate has been independently verified and will state the certified entity, scope, standard, certification body and validity dates.
6. Questions and complaints
Questions, service complaints or requests for an accessible copy may be sent to safiri-salama@arusi.ke or delivered to ARUSi at Tamasha Business Centre, Kamiti Road, Nairobi. A person may also use any project-specific grievance channel communicated to them.
7. Applicable Kenyan Law
This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya and will be interpreted consistently with all mandatory legal and regulatory requirements that apply to ARUSi. Relevant references include:
- Traffic Act Cap 403
- National Transport and Safety Authority Act Cap 404
- Consumer Protection Act Cap 501
- Data Protection Act 2019
If this policy conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, that requirement will prevail and ARUSi will update the policy as necessary.
